How dose pressure-cooking works?
Here's how pressure-cooking works. When
water ( or any liquid) boils, it produces
steam. A tightly sealed pressure cooker
traps this steam, which then builds pressure
inside cooker. Under pressure, cooking temperature
can be raised significantly higher than
under normal conditions. The super heated
steam created by these higher temperatures
cooks food quickly, evenly & deliciously.

How safe is Nirlep
pressure cooker?
As the cooker gets heated up, pressure begins
to generate, which lifts the vent weight
and the excess steam generated is released
through vent tube. If the normal escape
of steam is blocked, the safety valve will
operate. This also operates in dry boiling
conditions. Please Note- The vent tube nut
has seven holes in it, which functions even
when few holes are blocked.
Important points
he/she must never forget before using the
cooker for the first time/every time.
- Read
and follow all the instructions provided
in the pressure cooker booklet of the company.
- Carry
out the first trial, before you start cooking
in it.
- Ensure
the vent tube is not blocked.
- All
the spares of the cooker are securely tightened.
- While
placing lid over the cooker body, ensure
the gasket is in place and the cooker is
properly closed.
- Weight
to be put on vent tube only after steam
starts coming out of vent tube freely.
- Do
not feel pressure cooker more than 2/3 of
its capacity for cooking solids, and more
than ½ for liquid.
- Use
stoves, electric hot plates, gas or kerosene
as fuel
- Dry
the pressure cooker after every wash
Method to remove
stains (caused by minerals in water)
Pour 1 lit. of water into the cooker body,
add 2 spoons of tartaric acid or citric
acid or fresh lime juice. Place cooker on
heat and boil for 30 min. you can repeat
this method periodically to keep the inside
of cooker stain free. · Cooker size 5 ltr.
(Water qty. proportionately for other sizes.)
What is the easiest
way to replace cooker spares?
- Gasket:
Remove the gasket from lid curl and place
the new gasket in the lid properly. Do not
stretch gasket when it is hot.
- Safety
Valve: With the help of right type &
size of spanner. replace the safety valve
and tighten it securely.
- Body
/ Side Handle: Using screw driver tighten
the screws. Do not over tighten them.
- Weight
/ Whistle: In case the weight comes off
with the steam pressure, get the weight
/ vent tube examined from your dealer. Replace
the parts if necessary.
Except for changing gasket, tightening handle
screws and changing safety valve, do not
repair any other part yourself. Take the
cooker to your dealer who will give expert
service & advice.
